A complicated design

This is a newer Mylar it was a complicated design



I did this last summer/early fall.. its from a series I did from flowers in
my garden but this one includes dreams of birds and Romans... The men are
taken from the internet and were in a gay site. Its an odd mix, men from
a website and large bird from my pigeon book and flowers from my garden.....
describing what living for me in this place is like along with my fantasy of
what I would like it to be like has been one of my goals. This piece of
art comes close.

Older decorative work

I like this piece its of one of my favorite models Eric. In this piece he is
made into my idea of fabric.
I used modernist homes as my repetitive pattern. I think this was influenced
by Eric's pose which reminded me
of my friend Phil who works for architects in NYC



This is a reversal ... the figure is just line and the background though
similar to the above uses color in a different way.... its
fun to experiment and I learned a lot from these two mylars.



This Mylar was done when my artist friend Phil was visiting... Phil is very anal and I did this very anal peice...

Visiting Tampa

I am in Tampa now visiting a friend and I want her to change her room design...of course...so here is one of the images of a room I showed her that a friend named Phil and I did in Northampton Mass.



I think Gabby should do this in her hall ..She is Massage Therapist and the hall leads to the therapy room...

I am here in Ft Myers, outside posting to my blog near the river while fish jump by and workers mow and weed wack....This is an odd place to be working on my computer, but its the only place I could get the internet.

Should I continue using a smaller format or not?

This is another smalller siized Mylar completed in San Francisco over the winter. This example was shown to Mr. George Billis of George Billis Gallery in Chelsea, Nyc,...
Mr. Billis suggested working in the larger size Mylar (24 x 36inches).... like those in the Chelsea series.. would be a better choice, and he believed this size work to be too tight..and expressed that I never work in that size again.

I also learned in that meeting how poorly my fraiming choice was.. I sprayed mounted the Mylar onto presentation board and framed tthem without matting them, in off white wood frames.....which Mr Billis felt were choking the peices.

I am now rethinking the whole framing approach... Mr. Billis 's advice proved to be invaluable for the presentation of my work..and I am very greatful for his input..

I loved his ideas of mounting the work onto metal and of course I agree with him about floating them on mat board which would allow them to breath.

However, I am not sure wether I am ready to give up making the smaller work and only work in the larger 24x 36 inch size. what do you think?????

I recently discovered my old acetate collages on boxes, which were stored in the attic...and because of making these more graphic design peices I found it easier to edit them down, too bad I got rid of the majority of the work last year.. I will post the edited collages when I get my camera back from my friend Andre...

Another sword and sandal influence this time the fantasy takes place inside a ritzy loft in Chelsea.

This mylar is based on sword and sandal movie, but here I have it meeting Sci-Fi, with a little biblical story going on...
Dont ask me why but I think I was angry....
